Some helpful information about trees

City accepts trees

The Hood River City Public Works Department will accept Christmas trees at its facility at 18th and May streets between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays through Friday, Jan. 18.

There will be no curbside pickup this season. Check in at the office before dropping trees off.

The Hood River Transfer Station, 3440 Guignard Road (541-386-4676) will also accept Christmas trees.

Yard debris and tree disposal on Wednesdays is free.

Lions collect trees

Cleaning up after Christmas is tiring enough, without having to load a dry, needle-dropping old tree into your car and haul it to the transfer station.

You’re thinking, “There’s got be an easier way.”

There is. The Hood River Lions Club has a simple solution for you: Set your tree by the curb before 10 a.m. on Jan. 5, and club members will pick it up sometime that day and get rid of it for you. There’s no charge for the service but the club will welcome donations.
