HRV wrestling wins first league match vs. Pendleton
Hood River Valley High School wrestling traveled to Pendleton Friday for the first league dual of the season. The Eagles won the meet 40-20. Results are as follows:
106 lbs: Jessica DeHart, 5-2 loss
113 lbs: double forfeit
120 lbs: Christian Marques, 13-1 win
126 lbs: Jorge Ortega, 6-0 loss
132 lbs: Charlie Mallon, 6-2 loss
145 lbs: Ian Rand, loss by fall
152 lbs: Chas Peterson, 11-6 loss
170 lbs: Kyle Weseman, loss by fall
95 lbs: Nick Morgan, win by fall
138, 160, 182, 220 and 285 lbs: Pendleton forfeit
Three runs in three weeks
Starting Jan. 26, runners have three Saturday events in a row for their enjoyment. The Run Like a Dog four-miler on Jan. 26 takes place on the scenic paths of the Skamania Lodge Golf Course and is only $2 (free for Columbia Gorge Running Club members). Registration starts at 9 a.m., running at 10 a.m. Next on the list is the Feb. 2 Heart Truth walk/run at Kiwanis Pocket Park (Klindt Dr.) in The Dalles. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. and running starts at 10 a.m. Finally, the Jumpstart Valentine’s Day River run/walk is on Feb. 9 at The Dalles Marina. Registration starts at 9 a.m., running at 10 a.m. Day-of registration is $10.
