On July 4, the Gorge Grown Farmers Market will change its hours and be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., right after the Independence Day parade.
“We are excited to be joining the community festivities for the Fourth of July,” said Todd Dierker of Gorge Grown. “The market is normally open in the evening, but we will make this shift to welcome the runners, parade enthusiasts and those joining the celebrations at Jackson Park with a wide variety of local foods.
“Vendors will have cherries, artisan sausages, blueberries, grass-fed beef, buns, vegetables and more to help make your family barbecue a true celebration of our region and our country. I can’t think of a more patriotic statement than buying your food from a local farmer.”
The Gorge Grown Mobile Farmers Market trucks and local farmers will be in the parade and then set up at Hood River Middle School for the market.
Two other local markets to keep in mind this week:
n Rural Craft Revival happens at Dog River Coffee from 6-9 p.m. July 3.
n Saturday Market happens every week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Hood River News parking lot.
