Police Log for July 17

All calls were responded to within the City of Hood River July 8-14.

Controlled substance violations (non-DUII):

July 13 — Third Street at State Street — Female from Washington state arrested for possession of methamphetamine and cited for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and driving while using a cellphone. She was lodged at NORCOR.

Disorderly conduct, mischief, criminal trespass and vandalism:

July 11 — A Street, 1500 block — Male contacted regarding damage done to his work vehicle.

July 13 — Oak Street, 200 block — Officer responded to a local restaurant regarding an unwanted male subject who had reentered the premises after being advised not to reenter. He was lodged at NORCOR.

July 13 — Pine Street, 800 block — A Heights resident reported a young male attempted to steal items from his carport.

Driving under the influence of intoxicants:

July 14 — May Street at 12th Street — Male cited for driving under the influence of intoxicants and released to his sister-in-law.

Identity theft or bank/credit card fraud:

July 8 — Wasco Avenue, 2700 block — Officer received report of a counterfeit $50 being passed at a local store.

July 9 — Eugene Street, 2400 block — Female reported fraudulent charges on her credit card.

Motor vehicle crashes, offenses and impounds:

July 8 — Portway Avenue, 400 block — A Hood River resident was struck by another vehicle while riding her motorcycle in a gravel parking area.

July 9 — Old Columbia River Road at Highway 35 — A Portland, Ore., resident was arrested for misdemeanor driving while suspended and two outstanding warrants for driving under the influence of intoxicants and driving while suspended.

July 11 — Hood River Interstate Bridge — Officer responded to a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles. One was damaged and had to be towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.

Outstanding warrants, parole, probation or terms violations:

July 14 — A Street — Officer observed a male in contact with a female, which was against the terms of his probation.

July 14 — 12th Street, 1600 block — Male arrested for a probation violation and later treated at Mid-Columbia Medical Center for a possible overdose. He was cited and released to his mother.

July 14 — West Cascade Street — A person in transition was arrested on a parole violation.

Theft, burglary or robbery:

July 8 — Pacific Avenue, 900 block — Vehicle reported stolen from the driveway of a residence.

July 8 — Wasco Street at Jaymar Road — An iPhone was reported stolen.

July 10 — Taylor Avenue, 1500 block — Theft from a motor vehicle reported; sail board equipment was taken.

July 10 — Event Site — Canadian male reported theft of a bike rack.

July 10 — 12th Street, 1800 block — Officer responded to a local restaurant in regards to a cellphone being stolen inside.

July 13 — Wasco Avenue, 2700 block — A male shoplifter took a computer out of the store without paying for it.


July 8 — I-84 at milepost 63 — A Umatilla resident was arrested on the charge of tampering with drug records.

July 9 — Oak Street — Male transported to the ER to be evaluated by medical staff.
