pFriem celebrates anniversary

pFriem Family Brewers announce its first anniversary event on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 2-10 p.m.

The party will be a family-friendly event, featuring live music with bands including The Greenneck Daredevils (3 p.m.), Wild Ones (5:30 p.m.) and Tony Smiley (8 p.m.). pFriem’s party will take place in the parking lot to the east of the brewery.

There will be a kids corner in the parking lot including outdoor games and activities. The pFriem tasting room will be open to guests during the outdoor event and will be serving its full menu of Belgian and European-inspired food. Minors are welcome at the pFriem event from 2-8 p.m.

Music listings for The Dalles

MacMillan, McAlexander and Bell with be playing music from their recent CD “Celilo” as well as other original compositions from 7-10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, at the Sunshine Mill Amphitheater in The Dalles. The band will also be at The Celilo Inn in The Dalles from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3.

Mark Womble and The SugarDaddies is playing on Thursday, Aug. 1, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Water’s Edge Bistro in The Dalles.

Chorus concert with Harmony of the Gorge

Don’t miss a free concert event on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 6:30 p.m. at the Hood River County Library. Harmony of the Gorge is a group of women singers dedicated to achieving musical excellence and personal growth by providing quality education and opportunities to perform and promote the art form of four-part acappella harmony.

‘Greencards’ play house concert

House concerts for the Mid-Columbia Folklore Society continue with music from two members of The Greencards on Thursday, Aug. 8, at 7 p.m. Time Magazine says the Greencards play “Laid-back tunes that land in the sweet spot halfway between Americana and bluegrass.” The house concert is at 401 Montello Ave., Hood River. This show benefits the Mid-Columbia Folklore Society and donations are accepted at the door.

Holland featured at Dog River

Louisiana folk artist Hank Holland will have a meet-and-greet event on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 3-5 p.m. at Dog River Coffee in Hood River. Holland is one of Louisiana’s top folk artists and is known in all 50 states and around the world. His work will be displayed through September. Williams, Hulett at Stonehedge

Kerry Williams, Rick Hulett and friends will be jamming at Stonehedge Gardens on Wednesdays in August for the summer concert dinner shows on the patio. Stonehedge Gardens is located at 3405 Cascade Ave., Hood River; 541-386-3940.

Friday, Aug. 2: Austin Heat vs Bigfoot Band: Round 2 9:30 p.m. — Soul, rock, roots-rock. Austin-based band Austin Heat (feat. Brian Scartocci from The Voice) return to the Gorge for a show with Hood River’s own Rick Hulett and his Bigfoot Band.

Saturday, Aug. 3: Vandella 9:30 p.m. — Southern/folk-rock meets Motown, from San Francisco. “Vandella draws their music from Motown, classic rock, Southern rock, folk-rock, blues, and modern-day sounds of indie pop/rock. It’s like if Ryan Adams was backed by The Band, or Jenny Lewis took over for Jay Farrar and Jeff Tweedy in Uncle Tupelo. It’s 1970s rock via 1990.”
