Class Notes: Mrs. S-G highlighted in newsletter

Hood River native Karen Smith-Griffith is a 5-6 grade teacher at Heppner Elementary School and has been with the Morrow County School District for 26 years. She is the daughter of C.J. and Mary Jo Smith of Hood River.

Parents say “Mrs. S-G” finds ways to get her students excited about school and develop a thirst for learning, according to a recent school newsletter. She is always willing to go above and beyond in an effort to “go to bat” for students, staying late so students can get caught up on work. She has been a teacher, confidant, role model, cheerleader and inspiration to many during her career.

Smith is routinely the first person to arrive at school each morning and the last to leave. She has earned respect from colleagues with her involvement in Site Council, Parent Teacher Club, study halls and after school activities.
