All calls were responded to within the City of Hood River June 17-23.
Assaults, harassment, menacing and domestic violence:
June 19 — Cascade Avenue — Male arrested for domestic assault IV and strangulation, and lodged at NORCOR.
June 18 — Second Street — Officer contacted by the Corvallis Police Department on a report of an assault that had occurred in Corvallis, with a witness possibly residing in Hood River.
June 23 — Cascade Avenue — Officer responded to a report that a person was being attacked by three other subjects. One of the males was reported to have a knife and had menaced the subject, and was accused of slashing the victim’s tires.
Controlled substance violations (non-DUII):
June 17 — I-84 at milepost 64 — A Cascade Locks male was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and failing to maintain a metal purchase record.
June 22 — I-84 at milepost 63 — A Prineville resident was arrested for unlawful possession of heroin and lodged at NORCOR. The resident was also cited for unlawful possession of marijuana, exceeding the posted speed limit, driving without proof of insurance and driving while suspended. The vehicle was towed.
Disorderly conduct, mischief, criminal trespass and vandalism:
June 19 — Rand Road, 600 block — Female contacted regarding criminal mischief done to her vehicle.
June 22 — 27th Street, 1000 block — Officer took report of two slashed tires at a residence.
June 22 — 27th Street, 1000 block — Officer took report of slashed tires at a residence.
June 22 — Prospect Avenue, 400 block — A White Salmon male was arrested for entering and remaining at a residence he had previously trespassed and was not allowed onsite.
June 23 — Second Street, 100 block — Male arrested for criminal mischief II after admitting to breaking a window at a local bar.
Driving under the influence of intoxicants:
June 22 — I-84 at exit 62 — A California resident was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol following a motor vehicle crash.
Motor vehicle crashes, offenses and impounds:
June 17 — 12th Street, 1000 block — Officer responded to a low-hanging power line after a semi had backed up against a curb and the trailer hit the pole, causing the line to get pulled off the building on the opposite side of the road.
June 18 — Cascade Avenue, 2200 block — Officer responded to a parking lot on report of a hit-and-run. Witnesses were able to get a vehicle description and an Oregon license plate number.
June 22 — I-84 at milepost 64 — Driver cited for driving while suspended and the vehicle towed.
Outstanding warrants, parole, probation or terms violations:
June 20 — I-84 at milepost 64 — Male arrested on a Hood River Circuit Court warrant and cited for driving while suspended and open container. He was lodged at NORCOR.
June 23 — I-84 at milepost 62 — A The Dalles resident was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear and lodged at NORCOR.
Theft, burglary or robbery:
June 17 — Cascade Avenue, 2000 block — Male reported a missing cellphone. He had left his phone on a shelf at a local pharmacy and when he returned a short time later, it was missing.
June 18 — 12th Street, 1700 block — Two juvenile females were cited for shoplifting.
June 19 — Cascade Avenue, 2000 block — Officer responded to a store on report of a suspected shoplifter. The suspect left the store before police arrived.
June 22 — Cascade Avenue at Second Street — Officer took report of an unlawful entry into a motor vehicle.
June 22 — A Street, 1300 block — Officer took report of a stolen remote-controlled car from the bed of a parked vehicle in front of the victim’s residence. It was later recovered and returned.
June 17 — Cascade Avenue, 500 block — A pit bull jumped from a parked car and came after a female and her dog. She stumbled and fell trying to get away from the aggressive animal and sustained injuries to her knee.
June 19 — Oak Street, 1600 block — Juvenile male reported he suspected his cellphone had been stolen while playing in a common area of a local apartment complex.
June 22 — Oak Street, 400 block — A local bar was investigated involving an over-served patron.
June 24 — Oak Street at 13th Street — Driver arrested after giving false information to an officer during a traffic stop.
