Gorge Owned (GO!) is accepting nominations for the third annual Tod LeFevre Sustainability Champion Awards, which celebrates people who are working on innovative, creative solutions to the environmental, economic and social issues facing the Gorge.
GO! will present the awards to one individual, one business and one student at the Gorge Earth Day celebration on April 20.
Tod LeFevre was a longtime resident of Hood River who passed away on March 7, 2011. He was a passionate and humble person who exemplified the change GO! wishes to inspire others to make in the world. LeFevre was a respected civil/environmental engineer. He launched a solar engineering and installation firm, Common Energy, which is currently owned and operated by Tod’s wife Marti and Scott Sorensen.
One of his favorite quotes by Albert Einstein sums up his passion for innovative solutions: “We can not solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them.” Tod and Marti have two children, Cassell and Sutton Bell.
Nominations for the Tod LeFevre Sustain-ability Champion Awards must be made no later than April 12, 2013. To make a nomination, go to: GorgeOwned.org/gor-ge-earth-day.
