Dine on hot soup and help FISH food banks at the same time on Nov. 21, with the second annual Empty Bowls benefit, 6:30 p.m. at Hood River Middle School.
The cost is $30 for a meal of soup and bread — and each diner takes home a bowl.
Proceeds will go to the FISH building project, slated to break ground in 2014.
Hood River Valley High School students created unique and artistic soup bowls for the project, under the tutelage of HRVHS art teacher Amirra Malak and Shelley Toon-Lindberg of Columbia Arts in Education. CGAIE and Providence co-sponsor the event.
Chef Mark Whitehead of Cornerstone Cuisine and Blue Skies Bakery will be back again to provide the soup and bread.
Tickets are available at Waucoma Bookstore and at Gorge Grown Farmers Market. Empty Bowls will take place on the same night as the final Gorge Grown market of the year (4-6 p.m.) indoors at HRMS.
