‘Paws’ awhile Oct. 16 to help Adopt-A-Dog

The downtown Gallery at 301 will host the second annual “Paws for a Cause” on Oct. 16.

The 5-8 p.m. silent auction and social event is sponsored by Hood River Adopt A Dog. In addition to the auction, The Groove Project will provide the music and Boda’s Kitchen will do the appetizers.

Beverages will be available at a no-host bar. This is all to raise funds for the HRAAD program and to help stray and abandoned dogs. Tickets are $20 per person and $5 for minors (accompanied by an adult). Tickets may be purchased from Gorge Dog, Adopt a Dog at the Hukari Shelter, or at the door the evening of the event.

Hood River Adopt a Dog is the volunteer group providing care for all shelter dogs and veterinary care and adoption services for unclaimed dogs at Hood River County’s Hukari Shelter in Odell.

Adopt a Dog receives no funds from the county for services provided, operating solely on donations, adoption fees, and fundraising.

Lisa Wiltsie of Gorge Dog has been “leading the charge” to organize this event with the help of HRAAD team members. They already have items committed to the auction such as vacation condo rentals, Seinfeld memorabilia, auto detailing, and items from many artists, with more auction items on the way,
