PET OF THE WEEK: Jazzy is ‘learning to relax’

This week volunteers at Adopt A Dog have selected Jazzy as the program’s adoptable pet of the week. They describe her as follows:

“Jazzy is about 2 years old and a terrier mix. And she does her terrier breed proud! She is generally very well-behaved, knows lots of commands and is devoted to her people.

“She’s a great hiking companion, has been through all kinds of puppy training and Canine Good Citizen training, but she’s leery of strangers and goes into protection mode sometimes and will nip; so she would be happiest in a home where either they are willing to help her not be afraid and nip, or she should go to a quiet home without a lot of visitors.

“In exchange, you will be rewarded greatly by Jazzy, who will be forever grateful that someone would be willing to see beyond her fault.

“Jazzy is precious and affectionate and ready for a home to call her own. She finally got into a great foster home and is making them smile every day with her silly ways! She’s very playful with her new foster dog brother and is learning to relax and soak in the love!”

Jazzy is housetrained, current on shots, microchipped and spayed. Her adoption is $165; cash or check only, please. The fee to adopt is charged to recoup standard veterinary expenses.

Since many of AAD’s dogs are in foster care, please call ahead to meet Jazzy at the Hukari Animal Shelter, 3910 Heron Drive, Odell; 541-354-1083. Adoption hours are Wednesdays from 5-7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9-11 a.m. Applications may be downloaded at and faxed to 877-833-7166.

The Adopt A Dog program offers 24PetWatch microchips, which include free registration into the 24PetWatch pet recovery service. (For more information visit or call 866-597-2424.)
