Hit Machine might have gone all night, but the concert, and the 2013 Families in the Park series, had to end sometime.

The Aug. 29 concert at Jackson Park was the last of the summer, and Director John Rust of sponsoring Community Education said the 2013 program was a success.

“The highlights for us during this year were great bands, all the fun knickknacks the stage sponsors had for the kids and families and seeing so many people dancing,” Rust said.

“We had two concerts with almost 500 people of all ages, sizes and abilities enjoying themselves on the grass dance floor.”

Rust said that on Aug. 29 Hit Machine singer Bart Hafeman called all the kids on stage and “a very spry 90-plus lady join the fun.”

He said, “It was inspiring for everyone and that is what makes the community of Hood River and the series so special.”

Rust said the series would not be possible without the support of Century Link, the major stage sponsors and the support all sponsors:
