Community Ed wrestling starts Sept. 30

Hood River Community Education is gearing up for its Intro to Wrestling program for kids in grades K-6. The five-week program will teach the fundamentals of the sport in a fun and save environment. HRV alumni and high school assistant coach Jim Donnelly will direct the class with the help of HRVHS wrestlers.

Godwin/Morgan win HRGCC Chapman

Hood River Golf and Country Club recently held a Chapman Tournament to celebrate its 90-year anniversary. The duo of Tom Godwin and Jerry Morgan won the event with a net score of 64.125. Joe Verdi and Terry McShane were second with 69.375.

In the Chapman format, teams of two compete and switch balls after their tee shots, select the best ball after their second shots, then play alternate shot until the ball is holed.
