Varsity boys lacrosse stomps Hillsboro

Hood River Valley High School’s varsity boys lacrosse team is picking up steam as it heads into league action starting later this month. Thursday’s 16-3 stomping of Hillsboro brings the Eagles to 2-2 so far this season.

Taylor Cramer led HRV in scoring, with four goals in the game, while Henry Barton and Bruce Ostler had three each, James Tickner and Torsenn Brown had two and Kiel Sorensen and Levi Glass had one apiece. The team plays again April 9 when it hosts Canby, 7 p.m. at HRVHS. The team starts its Oregon High School Lacrosse Association Columbia Conference schedule on the road April 22 vs. OES.

Meadows hosts HRAD April 6

Mt. Hood Meadows Ski area is hosting its fourth-annual Hood River Appreciation Day this Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m. In a change from years past, when the event was held at the Hood River Meadows base area, this year’s event will be at the main lodge, in the Vertical Restaurant. Festivities will include food, music, raffles, beer and wine tasting and more.

Girls lacrosse clinic is April 14

The HRVHS girls lacrosse program is hosting a youth clinic for players in grades 1-8 on April 14, from 9-11:30 a.m. at Westside Elementary School. The $30 fee goes to help fund the HRVHS program. To register: or 541-399-4959.
