Friends of Mount Adams hosts

Three nationally known experts on wilderness will speak at a conference at Trout Lake on May 3, sponsored by the nonprofit Friends of Mount Adams.

“Celebrating 50 Years of Wilderness: A Legacy for the Future” is the conference theme. Speakers include Doug Scott, recently retired policy director for the Campaign for America’s Wilderness, Dr. Troy Hall, professor of conservation social sciences at the University of Idaho, and Dr. Peter Landres, research scientist whose work is directed at improving wilderness stewardship and sustaining ecological conditions.

The conference includes break-out sessions. Lunch and refreshments are included in registration, $35 for adults and $20 for students; payment must be received by April 26 to be guaranteed a lunch, at Friends of Mount Adams, P.O.
