Parkdale News: Parkdale Garden Club hosts ‘Hats off to Spring’

The Parkdale Garden Club is hosting this year’s annual Hood River District meeting on Saturday, April 26, at 9 a.m. at the Parkdale Grange Hall, and anyone in the community who is interested in the garden club is welcome to come to the free event.

“Hats Off to Spring” is this year’s theme and attendees are encouraged to wear hats decorated with fresh or silk flowers to honor the occasion and win prizes for their efforts.

A continental breakfast of rolls, fruit, juice and coffee will be served at 9 a.m., followed by the meeting, then a lunch of smoked turkey provided by the Parkdale Garden Club.

After the luncheon, Paul Marcott, a Master Gardener from the University of California at Davis, will do a presentation on the Gardens of Southeast Asia.

The Hood River District garden clubs include Dufur, Maupin, Odell, Hood River Evening and Parkdale.
