Pet of the Week: Brownie is ‘15 pounds of pure sweetness’

This week volunteers at Adopt A Dog have selected Brownie as the program’s adoptable pet of the week. They describe him as follows:

“Brownie is about 13 months old, and 15 pounds of pure sweetness! His owners just don’t have the time this little guy deserves and so they sadly decided it was in his best interest to find another home for him.

“Brownie is one of those super-playful, adorably cute dogs you just can’t resist! He loves other dogs and adores kids, but isn’t sure what to think about those cats!

“He used to live outside almost all the time, so he needs practice with the housetraining thing, and leashes are new, too. But he’s getting the hang of that easily enough and now he thinks walks are da bomb! He loves sniffing everything and anything! So much to explore in life — he just can’t get enough!

“Once in a while, Brownie will get nervous with something new; he has learned that comfort and courage can be found by sitting on a friend’s shoe! It’s become kind of his go-to spot. This boy should come with a guarantee to provide smiles galore to all who meet him.”

Brownie is current on shots, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $185. The fee to adopt is charged to recoup standard veterinary expenses.

Since many of AAD’s dogs are in foster care, please call ahead to meet Brownie at the Hukari Animal Shelter, 3910 Heron Drive, Odell; 541-354-1083. Adoption hours are Wednesdays from 5-7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9-11 a.m. Applications may be downloaded at and faxed to 877-833-7166.
