Second-half comeback falls short in HRV lax loss to Summit

After opening with a painful 10-2 first half deficit, the Hood River Valley High School varsity boys lacrosse team made some vital adjustments to its defensive tactics and rebounded by outscoring the Summit Storm 7-4 in the second half. The comeback attempt was too little, too late, however, as the Eagles lost 14-9 in the home game Saturday afternoon.

James Tickner led in scoring with a hat trick, while Torsenn Brown, Henry Barton, Taylor Cramer, Kiel Sorensen and Marcus Crouch had goals as well.

The loss was the first for HRV in seven games and ends a pre-season that saw the Eagles lose the first two, then win the next six. League action started Tuesday with a tough game at No. 1-ranked Oregon Episcopal School (results unavailable as of presstime), followed by a home game Friday (7 p.m. at HRVHS) vs. Cleveland.
