Gorge FC hosts home game Saturday

Gorge FC hosts Seattle Sporting at 7 p.m. Saturday at Hood River Valley High School in semi-pro soccer action. Hershey’s Track Meet is May 10

The annual Hershey’s Track Meet will take place Saturday, May 10, at Hood River Valley High School, starting at 11 a.m. The meet is open to Hood River County residents only and participants must be between the ages of 9 and 14 (as of Dec. 31). BSC Hood River soccer tryouts slated

BSC Hood River is holding tryouts for its youth teams. Information is as follows (dates in parentheses are birthday ranges for age groups):

May 4, Westside Elementary: U11, 9 a.m. (8/1/03-7/31/05); U12, 10:30 a.m. (8/1/02-7/31/03); U13, 2 p.m. (8/1/01-7/31/02); U14, 1:30 p.m. (8/1/00-7/31/01)

May 6 Wy’east Middle School: U11 and U12, 5 p.m.; U13 and U14, 6:15 p.m.

Developmental Academy open house: BSC Hood River is hosting an open house to players interested in the U8-U10 development academy. This program is designed for players who are looking for a higher level of coaching than recreational soccer. The open house will run from 6-7:30 p.m. May 9 at Westside Elementary School. BSC Strikers host fundraiser dinner and auction

The BSC Hood River Strikers invite the public to the team’s fundraiser dinner and auction on May 4, 4-7 p.m. at Wy’east Middle School. Funds raised from the event will help pay for the team’s trip to nationals this summer in North Carolina.

Meadows open seven days in May

Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort concludes the 2013-14 season with the following schedule: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 2-4, 9-11 and 17.

Hood2River Relay is a month away

The six-stage relay race starting at Mt. Hood Meadows and ending at the Hood River Marina is set for May 31; registration is open and ongoing throughout he month. The event includes alpine and nordic skiing, mountain biking, road biking, running and paddling stages, with a variety of entry divisions. For details or to register, visit
