The Saw Tooth Roadhouse is feeling pretty lucky to announce that Beth Goldwater is playing on its outdoor stage on Saturday, Aug 2, from 7-9 p.m. Beth’s silky voice can bring a room to a standstill with her first note. “Whether performing a cappella, or with her mahogany guitar, it’s Beth’s voice that commands a room and melts hearts. ‘Underground’ musical swap meet at skatepark Aug. 10

On Sunday Aug 10, starting at noon, the Hood River Skate Park will feature a musical instrument swap meet hosted by the Underground Music Station. Bring your music gear to sell or trade, get a free music lesson and jam with a live band featuring Underground Music Station instructors. Organizer Tim Snyder will be on hand answering questions about the Station’s Kickstarter campaign. Pro skateboard demonstrations are planned, too. Hood River Skatepark, Wasco and 20th, Hood River.

Kory Quinn at CEBU Aug. 1-2

This week at CEBU Lounge:

There’s two chances this weekend to see Kory Quinn & The Comrades — Friday, Aug 1 and Saturday, Aug. 2 – Boot Stompin’ Folk Blues.

“Songwriter Kory Quinn, a DIY contemporary hobo intellectual, has a refreshingly homespun take on Americana, a very welcome sigh of relief in today's contemporary market. He just released second full-length album, “At The End of The Bar,” which boils down red-dirt basics in a freewheeling roadhouse stew. Quinn's songwriting offers sturdily constructed country, folk, and Cajun-tinged songs for his ensemble to really sink their fangs into on this instant jukebox classic.” Best Western Hood River Inn, 1108 E. Marina Way; 541-386-2200.

Cascade Crescendo at Everybody's Aug. 1

"Born from the campgrounds of the Northwest String Summit and bluegrass jams in Portland, Cascade Crescendo has been crafting their own brand of bluegrass over the past couple years. While their musical connection began with old traditional tunes, their true sound emerges in their original music."

Their collaborative songwriting combines ancient elements of their traditional influences, with progressive sounds and themes of the modern day, leaving plenty of room for instrumental explorations. Their music ranges from fast, hard driving bluegrass, to funky danceable grooves, to heartfelt acoustic ballads, and back to lively, upbeat bluegrass (sometime all in the same song)!

Cascade Crescendo is Hunter White (guitar), Taylor Skiles (upright bass), Eric Messer (banjo), and Russ Baker (mandolin).

Catch them at Everybody's Brewing in White Salmon on Friday, Aug. 1, starting at 9:30 p.m.
