Two Odell residents suffered gunshot wounds Tuesday morning and were transported to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland.
Gonzalo and Bertha Marquez, both 46, identified as husband and wife, suffered wounds from a handgun, according to Hood River County Sheriff Matt English, who responded to the scene along with deputies and District Attorney John Sewell.
Just prior to 7 a.m., deputies were called to the property west of 3410 AGA on a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies found the victims both suffering from gunshot wounds.
“It appears they will both survive,” English said, but at press time he could provide no other details on their condition or what happened. The case is under investigation; deputies recovered the firearm on scene. No additional suspects are being sought at this time.
Gonzalo was transported by LifeFlight helicopter and Bertha was taken by ground ambulance. Wy’east Fire District and Hood River Fire Department handled the transports.
The property, adjacent to AGA mobile home park, is used for car repairs and contains an outbuilding. The couple was found outside, according to English.
