Sign up now for fall MS/HS tennis program

Sign-ups for the fall middle school/high school tennis program are happening now. The program will be headed by Leslie Kerr and Justine Ziegler with other assistant and volunteer coaches.

The program is to run Sept 2-25, Mondays through Wednesdays, 4:15-5:30 p.m. with match play on Thursdays, 4:15-6:15 p.m.

Cost will be $115 — half the program profit allocated to be split between the girls tennis team and the Hood River community tennis court maintenance fund. Kids can register at Community Ed. Limit set at 28 kids, so sign up as soon as possible at

‘Rural Rampage’ returns Sept. 7 at Westside

Rural Rampage Bike Adventure Race is set for Sunday, Sept. 7, 10 a.m., starting at Westside Elementary.

Teams of two will bike to several locations on the west side of Hood River in a 10-mile loop. Teams will complete a challenge at each of those locations before moving on to the next location.

Grab your son, daughter, mother, father, or friend and come out to support Hood River Middle School and Hood River Valley High School in a fun “Amazing Race” fundraiser.
