‘Team AARP’ wins first Battling Bob tourney

The first Battling Bob Hanel Memorial Golf Tournament was a big, sunny success, according to Mark Gradin.

“Matt Kyriax and his staff did an outstanding job in running the tournament, and the Divots staff provided excellent food throughout the day,” Gradin said.

“We had an absolutely beautiful day,” Gradin said of the Aug. 16 event at Indian Creek Golf Club.

A total of 80 players helped raise money for the Hood River Valley High School boys and girls golf teams.

The winning teams are: First Gross, Team AARP, Denis Thomas, Roger Barry, Mark Robertson, Greg Ellis; First Net Team E & L Auto Parts, Kevin Hay, Keith Hay, Alisha Hay, Doug Hamada; Second Net Team Indian Creek Golf Course, Tyson Jacobs Michelle Jacobs, Kay Hanel, Tyler Freas; Third Net Team DaKine Eric Voigt, David Hindahl, Bill Morrissey, Patty Huddleston; Fourth Net Team Hanel It!, Kip Miller, John Garcia, Mitch Huru, Steve Tessmer; Fifth Net Team 3 Guys & A Girl, Maria and Don McConnell, Bryan Hays, Brad Hoxie.
