Pet of the Week: Tommy is a fun-loving hound

This week volunteers at Adopt A Dog have selected Tommy as the program’s adoptable pet of the week. They describe him as follows:

Tommy is a beautiful, uh...I mean handsome fella! Tommy is about 18 months old, about 50 pounds and some kind of hound mix, but he’s not one of those barky-type hounds. He’s one of those goofy, fun-loving hounds! He’s a super friendly, happy-go-lucky dog that once you meet, you just gotta take home and make him part of your family. He’s as sweet and playful as they come! He had a rough road here, but boy, is he happy and doing fine being with us. Tommy has a great time no matter what — even when he’s alone, as long as he as a squeaky toy, he’s entertained.

He loves other dogs, although he shouldn’t play with little ones — he’s too much for them. And he’s been great with the kids he’s met, although he’s only been with kids aged 10 and up. Tommy is learning his manners and good leash skills are coming along, too.

And now that he knows that when he does basic commands he gets a treat, he’s willing to practice, practice, practice on those, for as long as you’ve got nummies!

Tommy would love to go to a home where he gets daily exercise.
