Acoustic Guitar Summit at Skamania Lodge Dec. 19

Skamania Lodge welcomes back the Acoustic Guitar Summit for a night of fingerpickin’ good tunes. The talented musical musings of the virtuoso guitar trio includes Grammy winners Mark Hanson and Doug Smith, who also won the National Fingerpicking Championship, and Oregon Music Hall of Famer and Cascade Blues Association’s top acoustic blues guitarist, Terry Robb. They will play a range of songs, from the classics to original works, for a memorable night filled with jazz, blues, folk and more. Friday, Dec. 19, from 8 to 11 p.m.Tickets are $15. Secret Salsa lesson Dec. 12

Gorge Winds Concert Band

Christmas Concert Dec. 21

The Gorge Winds Concert Band will be presenting its annual Christmas Concert on Sunday, Dec. 21, at 2 p.m. The concert will be held at the Civic Auditorium in The Dalles, located at the corner of Fourth and Federal streets. Suggested donation for the concert is $5.

This years’ concert will include arrangements including “A Most Wonderful Christmas,” “The Polar Express,” “Russian Christmas Music,” “Triptych for Christmas,” “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo,” and several other seasonal songs. This festive event is suitable for the entire family.

Country Dance, potluck dinner at Rockford Grange Dec. 13

The Second Saturday Country Dance and Potluck Dinner happens on Saturday, Dec. 13, with dinner starting at 5:30 p.m. Dance lessons start at 7 p.m. The dance caller will be Sue Baker from Hood River and the band will be Full Moon from Portland. All ages welcome and no partner required. Family friendly and all dances walked through first time. Enjoy an evening of Contras, Country Squares, Circle dances and a few Waltzes. The dance will be at the Rockford Grange, on Barrett Road, Hood River. $6 for members, $7 for non-members, $1 for youth and students. Please bring snack treats for break time.
