Erick Haynie at CEBU Dec. 26

This week at CEBU Lounge:

Friday, Dec. 26, Erick Haynie, 8-10 p.m., Barrelhouse & Boogie Piano Bar

Join Hood River native Erick Haynie for a “just after Christmas” evening of boogie and barrelhouse piano. With its rooted, machine-like bass figures, and its improvised, right hand riffs full of twiddly bits and cheer, boogie is currently on a major come back in England and America. Erick’s musical offerings are inspired by legends like Albert Ammons, Mead “Lux” Lewis and Scott Joplin, as well as the modern greats, like Dr. John and Brendan Kavanagh ("Dr. K"). If you are looking for joy, you’ll find it in boogie.

Saturday, Dec. 27, Scott Pemberton Trio, 9:30 p.m.

Funky, soulful guitar wizardry — you will dance!
