Knights’ free throw contest is Dec. 31

Attention hoop shooters ages 9 -14, the annual Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest returns to Hood River on Dec. 31, 10 a.m. to noon at Hood River Valley High School. The contest runs during the final day of the HRV youth basketball camp, but participation in the camp is not necessary to compete.

Entry is free (parent signature is required) and winners in each of the 12 divisions receive trophies. The contest is open to all Hood River County and White Salmon area youth. For more information contact Frank Wall at 541-354-1505.

Middle school wrestling starts after break

Wrestling programs at Hood River and Wy’east middle schools start after the holiday vacation. Registration for both schools is open now through Hood River Community Education and can be done online at or over the phone at 541-386-2055. Practices start Jan. 5 at HRMS and Jan. 7 at Wy’east.
