A skier drops over a cliff on a run called Seventh Heaven at Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort Saturday morning. The resort reported 31 inches of fresh snow between Saturday and Tuesday and (as of Tuesday morning) a base of 44 inches at the lodge and 58 inches at mid-mountain. Although still below average, those numbers are a huge improvement from a week ago, when the resort was finally able to open its keystone terrain serviced by the Mt. Hood and Shooting Star express lifts.

Weather this week looks cold, dry and windy out of the east before a possible return to snow over the weekend.
