Hood River Reel Youth Film Festival March 6

Skylight Theater and Columbia Center for the Arts are partnering up to bring the Reel Youth Film Festival to Hood River. The festival empowers young aspiring filmmakers to express their creativity, entertain audiences, and share their visions.

Reel Youth Film Festival partners with local communities to showcase youth films from around the world and local filmmakers. Alex Ellison from Mr. Elive Productions offered two free filmmaking workshops to local youth in January to encourage students in the Columbia River Gorge to try their hand at film making. Films were submitted at the end of January and incorporated into a youth film program spanning many cultures and countries.

The festival is a model for community engagement, a celebration of youth culture, and a showcase for the richness and diversity of a new generation of film makers.

Skylight Theater will be screening these short films by young people under 20 on March 6 at 6:30 p.m.

This festival will kicks off the film season in the Columbia Gorge, with Festival of the Fly, the Hood River Mountain Film Festival, the Columbia Gorge 48 Hour Film Competition and finally the 3rd Annual 3 day Mt. Hood Independent Film Festival coming in early November.

Join Skylight Theater and Columbia Center for the Arts for a night of outstanding youth films.

Tickets are available in advance at http://mrelive. ticketleap.com/hood-river-reel-youth-film-festival/ or at the door at Skylight Theater, 107 Oak Street in downtown Hood River.
