Gorge Owned invites the community to the next in its Sense of Place lecture series, “Mount Hood: Shaping the People and Places of the Pacific Northwest,” with Jon Bell. It will be held March 5 at Columbia Center for the Arts. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation begins at 7.
Bell will talk about the legendary Mount Hood, which has helped define the Northwest for centuries. It shapes the landscape, inspires awe and lures adventurers from around the world, The mountain also helps create the notorious Oregon rains and deep alpine snows. It has long been a sacred place for Native Americans, and it provides some of the purest drinking water in the world.
Admission is free for Gorge Owned members and $5 for non-members.
