‘Strange Americans,’ Esme Paterson at CEBU Lounge

The 4th of July has shifted the music schedule this week at CEBU Lounge:

Thursday July 3: Strange Americans 9:30 p.m. – Americana Rock ‘n Roll

“Formed in 2010, Strange Americans began writing music rooted in Americana, while hanging onto a true innovative spirit. Having been influenced by many including My Morning Jacket, Wilco, Drive By Truckers, Crazy Horse, and the Band, they do their best to present an accessible, energetic, and wildly entertaining blend of rock and roll.”

Saturday, July 5: Esme’ Patterson (of Paper Bird) w/ Paleo 9:30 p.m. – Folk ‘n Roll Songwriters

“Esmé Patterson’s songwriting is at the heart of the folk and roll explosion. Her first album, “All Princes, I,” was released in November of 2012 and her sophomore album, “Woman to Woman,” is a concept album of responses to famous songs about women. She is a founding member of the Americana group Paper Bird. She has played on both David Letterman and Jay Leno with various bands.”

“Paleo, aka David Strackany, is an American singer of folk music who is notable for writing a song every day for 365 days, receiving national exposure from media outlets such as NPR. He plays acoustic guitar and sings and in 2005 began touring the United States. He has a recording arrangement with indie music label Partisan Records.”
