Entertainment Update for July 12

Hellodollface at Pint Shack July 16

“A well lit female-fronted eclectic soulchild born into a sea of evocative bass heavy, disco-plated live percussive backbeats. Salty, sweet, aggressive, and visceral, Hello Dollface delves into a genre touring sonic scope touching the likes of fellow indies St. Vincent and Hiatus Kaiyote, as the rhythm section throws back deep grooves with new-school ploys that seal the energy in this group of golden soul-funkster vagabonds.” The Colorado-based independent soul project features Ashley Edwards and Jesse Ogle. Catch them live at The Pint Shack on Wednesday, July 16, starting at 8 p.m. $3 cover, 21-and over only.

The Pint Shack, 105 Fourth St., Hood River; 541-387-7600.

Run On Sentence album release party July 11

Musician Dustin Hamman and his band Run On Sentence is releasing the new album “Feelings,” on Friday July 11, at Everybody's Brewing. Music starts at 9 p.m. This is the band’s third release. Critics say “The songs have great dynamic range, crouching down in quiet reverence in certain parts, ducking below the hedges to avoid the cops, and then bursting out with a parade of trumpets like the world's happiest jack-in-the-box.”

Everybody’s Brewing, 151 E. Jewett Blvd., White Salmon, Wash; 509-637-2774.

Music at Lost Lake July 12

Big Ron and Medium Ben perform at Lost Lake Resort on Saturday, July 12, from 7-9 p.m. Visit lostlakeresort.org for more information.

“Ben Bonham is a first rate showman and accomplished player of guitar, slide guitar and ukulele. Ron Ontiveros plays upright bass, shouts a bit, carries the gear and drives the van. Let them whisk you away with their musical style which incorporates early country blues, early jazz, early western swing, early tin pan alley, late electronica, early hapa haole, early elevator and early punk rock. All with an undercurrent of irreverent humor.”
