Wool busting, carnival, music, livestock auction — it’s all happening at the County Fair!

Hood River County Fair concludes July 26 at the Hood River County Fairgrounds in Odell.

Fair headliner John Michael Montgomery takes to the main stage at 8 p.m. on July 26.

Look for changes including a new parking system: the entrances and exits remain the same, but Lions members will work to park fairgoers at all five lots simultaneously, and traffic patterns will change inside the grounds, enabling more cars to park.

Regular general admission prices to the fair are $7 per adult Friday and $10 on Saturday. Admission for children aged 6-12 is $2. Children under 6 are admitted free. Parking is free. The fair opens each day at noon, with carnival rides beginning at 1 p.m.

Here are some selected highlights of the fair:

“Wool Busting” Kids up to 55 pounds can try their hand at riding sheep. There’s fun for bigger kids, too, including Barrel Busting Sheep, the Buck-A-Ewe mechanical sheep, and “Just for Fun” roping clinics, new this year. This is for kids over 55 pounds, and younger than age 12.

Cascade Amusements carnival bracelets cost $22. Each bracelet ticket purchased may be used on any one day of the fair, and is good for rides all day long. Carnival rides begin at 1 p.m. each day, and continue until closing.

Banda LM from Seattle performs on the main stage from 8-10 p.m. on Friday. All musical performances are free with paid admission to the fair.
