Roller Girls bout June 14

The Gorge Roller Girls host their season finale Saturday, June 14, at Hood River Valley High School. The local derby team will take on the Atomic City Roller Girls out of Tri-Cities. Doors open at 5 p.m., action starts at 6 p.m. For details or tickets, visit gorgerollergirls.org.

Dirty Harlots host bike team fundrasier

Hood River’s Dirty Harlots mountain bike team is hosting a car/bike wash fundraiser from 2-6 p.m. on June 21 in the Dirty Fingers Bike Shop (corner of State and 13th streets). The funds are to raise money for the team’s mechanic, who will be traveling with the team as it competes in Oregon Enduro Series races. The all-women team promotes and inspires ladies riding, trail advocacy, community volunteerism, and all-around enthusiasm for the sport of mountain biking.

CSRT has Mt. Bike Club camp openings Enrollment is open for the Cooper Spur Race Team’s Summer Youth Mountain Bike Club day camps. Camps run three days each, every other week during the months of July and August, with riding consisting of one hour of technical coaching followed by 90 minutes of riding. The camps are open boys and girls ages 10-15. For info or to register, visit cooperspurraceteam.org.

44Trails Association work parties scheduled

The Mount Hood-based 44 Trails Association is hosting four work parties through the 2014 riding season to help improve and maintain the county’s uppermost trails in the Forest Road 44 area off of Highway 35.

Dates are as follows (more info at 44trails.org):

June 14, National Trails Day; June 26, Mid-summer maintenance; Oct. 4, TBA special event; Oct. 18, final work party of the season.
