Roller Girls’ last home bout

The Gorge Roller Girls host their season finale Saturday, June 14, at Hood River Valley High School. The local derby team will take on the Atomic City Roller Girls out of Tri-Cities. Doors open at 5 p.m., action starts at 6 p.m. For details or tickets, visit gorgerollergirls.org.

Dirty Harlots bike team hosts fundraiser car/bike wash

Hood River’s Dirty Harlots ladies mountain bike team is hosting a car/bike wash fundraiser from 2-6 p.m. on June 21 in the Dirty Fingers Bike Shop (corner of State and 13th streets). The funds are to raise money for the team’s mechanic, who will be traveling with the team as it competes in Oregon Enduro Series races.

CSRT hosts Mtn. Bike Club camps

Enrollment is open for the Cooper Spur Race Team’s Summer Youth Mountain Bike Club day camps. Camps run three days each, every other week during the months of July and August, with riding consisting of one hour of technical coaching followed by 90 minutes of riding. MHCC Kids Race is Saturday

Although the Mt. Hood Cycling Classic is no longer, a popular kids race in The Dalles remains in full force. The free event is this Saturday, starting at 3 p.m. at The Dalles’ Water’s Edge Park (551 Lone Pine Blvd.) and is open to kids up to 12 years old (trike-riders welcome). Activities include a skills course leading up to the racing action, which starts at 5:30 p.m. Organized by Breakaway Promotions in partnership with Mid-Columbia Medical Center, this event is touted as the largest kids’ bike race in the Northwest. Tennis camps coming up

Annual summer tennis camps still have openings (sign up at hrcommunityed.org) for youth, middle school and high school players. Camps will be run by McKenzie Kerr at the City’s Tsuruta Tennsi Courts. Details are as follows: June 16-19: youth; June 23-26: middle school and high school; July 7-10: youth; July 14-17: MS/HS; July 21-24: youth; Aug. 4-7: MS/HS; Aug. 11-14: youth.

White Salmon Half is June 14

The 7th annual White Salmon Backyard Half Marathon is set for this Saturday based out of Rheingarten Park. The 13.1-mile run is free to enter, although donations will be accepted as a fundraiser for the Columbia High School cross country team. Walkers start at 8:30 a.m. and runners start at 10 a.m. Last year more than 400 people participated. Registration starts at 7 a.m. Saturday morning. More info at columbiagorgerunningclub.org.

Tour de Hood rides one last time

The annual Tour de Hood cycling event takes place on the roads of upper Hood River County June 22, and organizers say, due to Forest Service plans to turn a paved road into gravel, this will likely be the last year for the 11th annual event. Elks Charity Golf Tourney June 28

Hood River Elks Lodge is hosting its 17th annual fundraiser golf tournament on Saturday, June 28, at Indian Creek Golf Course. Proceeds from the four-person scramble tournament go toward Elks’ student scholarship and awards programs, including the Student of the Month and Student of the Year programs. New this year is a sponsorship by Mid Columbia Marine and Motorsports, which has provided four hole-in-one prizes — two motorcycles and two ATVs — for each of the course’s par-threes.

Registration is $300 per team or $75 per person at the course’s pro shop.
