“Frozen,” Aug. 4-8, from 9 a.m. to noon — Have you ever had hurt feelings? Is it hard to not hold a grudge?

This year’s vacation Bible school will be a time of faith, friendship and forgiveness as we learn how Jesus melts the frozen heart. We hope that you can join us for what promises to be one of the “coolest” fun-filled events of the summer!

“Renew,” the “green” vacation Bible School, July 14-18, 9 a.m. to noon. Children in grades K-5 are invited to participate.

Renew is an environmentally focused VBS program that inspires kids to grow in faith, have fun and change the world as they practice the stewardship of creation.

In this action-packed VBS kids will be learning about the Parable of the Sower, singing, planting and engaging different intelligences while learning why it’s a spiritual value to be green in their homes, the community and the world.

The cost is $50 for the week (extra donations welcomed; scholarships and family discounts available). There are three ways to register:

Call 541-386-1412 and request a registration form; visit riversideucc.com; find form under “Nurture Your Children”; or drop by RCC at 317 State St. and pick up a registration form.

Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ninth and State streets

"Weird Animals,” June 23-27, 9 a.m. to noon.

Kids will discover that Jesus’ love is one-of-a-kind. They will also learn about some of God’s most cool, creative and crazy creations, and participate in fun and memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games and dig into yummy treats.

They will experience Bible adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them they are unique and wonderful, and test out Sciency-Fun Gizmos they’ll take home and play with all summer long. (Since everything is hands-on, kids might get a little messy. Be sure to send them in play clothes and safe shoes.)

Parents, grandparents, and friends are invited to join in at 9 a.m. at the “Sing & Play Stampede” to kick off each day with songs, stories and funny skits. They are also invited to arrive back at Weird Animal VBS at 11:35 a.m. each day for the “Tail End “— a daily celebration of Jesus’ love you won’t want to miss.
