Nearly 350 runners and walkers packed the streets of downtown White Salmon Saturday morning for the seventh-annual White Salmon Backyard Half Marathon. The event, a fundraiser for the Columbia High School cross country team, is a 13.1-mile loop, largely on single-track trails, up to the bluffs above Bingen and back down.

The top 10 individuals who registered from Hood River County are as follows: Jonathan Graca, 11th overall; Lucas Lembrick, 19th overall; Gary Tyler, 25th overall; Calum Robertson, 27th overall; Brian Hennessy, 41st overall; Becky Brun, 46th overall (3rd female); Asalia Valdez, 54th overall (7th female); Gary Johnson, 58th overall; Andree Edward, 63rd overall; Bill Norris, 72nd overall.

The event was organized by the Columbia Gorge Running Club, which hosts a number of running events through the season. Next up is the June 28 Sternwheeler Days 5K/10K in Cascade Locks. For more info see columbiagorgerunningclub.com.
