Series continues July 19 with national slalom race
The Gorge Cup windsurfing race series held its third round of competition over the weekend, and despite lighter-than-desired wind, the field of 19 racers completed four heats throughout the day. Overall standings for the series are below (for complete results, see gorgecup.com). Racing continues next month, July 19-20, when the series is host to the second stop of the four-stage U.S. Windsurfing Slalom National Racing Tour. Local racers from the Gorge Cup series will test their skills and experience with local conditions against a larger field of racers pursuing national slalom titles with the series, which stopped in Worthington, Minn., last week and goes to Maui in August and finishes in Florida in early November.
