Sheriff’s Department investigates recent Odell car prowls

ODELL — Three vehicles were broken into at the employee parking lot at Diamond Fruit Odell plant, on AGA Road. The incident was discovered Monday at 9:45 p.m., according to Pete Hughes of the Hood River Sheriff’s Department, which is investigating. Hughes said that the location has seen similar spates of car break-ins in recent years

Stereos and computer equipment were taken from two vehicles, with losses of up to $2,300, and banking information from the third car. Two of the cars were Toyota Forerunners and the third was a Kia Rio. One vehicle was unlocked, and windows were broken out in the two others. Hughes said evidence was collected at the scene and is now being reviewed by detectives; there are no suspects at this time.

Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department tip line, 541-387-7707, or the dispatch center, 541-386-2711.
