Discovery Center Scavenger Hunt
Looking for a fun family activity during spring break? Come to the Discovery Center: Kids get in free with paid adult admission during Oregon and Washington spring break, March 22 through April 13.
Enjoy a fun scavenger hunt, kid craft activities, a special kid’s menu in the café, and live raptor shows daily.
The Discovery Center is located off I-84 at exit 82, 5000 Discovery Drive, The Dalles, and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Adult admission is $9, seniors $7, admission for kids during spring break is free with paid adult. Spring Extravaganza at The History Museum
Looking for something exciting to do over Spring Break? Dive into history at the The History Museum’s Exploration Space. This hands-on learning space at the museum is always filled with fun activities that teach kids of all ages about history, and the museum is celebrating spring with brand-new activities.
Explore the museum, create your own puppet, learn to weave on a hula hoop, and much more.
Admission is always free for kids 10 and under, currently serving military members and family, and museum members.

Thomas, more at the Hood River Library
While your family is enjoying some spring break time, why not stop by the library for a bit of fun? The Hood River Library has some special events planned for March 25-29, including crafts, storytimes, movies, and Thomas the Train.
Spring break events at the Library include:
Tuesday, March 25, 2 p.m. — Birdfeeder craft. Come make a feeder out of recycled materials for the newly returning birds.
Wednesday and Thursday, March 26-27, 10:30 a.m. — Spring-themed storytime. Enjoy some special spring-themed stories, songs, and games during our regular weekly storytimes.
Thursday, March 27, 2 p.m. — Thomas the Tank Engine movie and play time. Come play with the great new Thomas play set donated to the library by G. Williker’s Toy Shoppe, and watch some Thomas films afterward.
Saturday, March 29, 2 p.m. — Hayao Miyazaki movie. Come see Miyazaki’s (My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away) beautiful retelling of “The Borrowers.”
