‘Good Body’ opens May 8

“The Good Body,” by Eve Ensler and directed by Judie Hanel, will open May 8 and run through May 18. The following actors have been cast in the show: Julie Jindal, Jessica Metta, Kathleen Morrow, Irene Fields, Brenda Hering, Lisa Roth, Desiree Amyx Mackintosh and Kim Robichaud.

“The Good Body” examines what it means to have a “good body” in our culture and elsewhere around the world. This thoughtful, personal and self-reflective work kaleidoscopes into a colorful, funny and poignant dialogue between Eve Ensler and women from Los Angeles to Afghanistan.

Each woman faces her own physical demons in ways that vary from drastic surgery to sneaking ice cream, and ends with a quiet invitation to acknowledge and embrace “the good body” in us all.

“It is forthrightly funny … bristling with wisecracks and exotically harvested snippets of wisdom.” — The New York Times
