Sheriff Log for May 17

All calls were responded to within the City of Hood River May 4-9.

Assaults, harassment, menacing and domestic violence:

May 6 — Hood River — Female reported being assaulted by her ex-husband.

May 8 — Eastside Road — Female arrested on probable cause developed by Wasco County Sheriff’s Office deputies and lodged at NORCOR for the crimes of attempted assault IV felony domestic, harassment, criminal mischief III and theft III.

Controlled substance violations (non-DUII):

May 8 — N.W. WaNaPa Street, 700 block, Cascade Locks — Male arrested for multiple crimes after being reported as a suspicious person attempting to gain entry into vehicles. Crimes included possession of methamphetamine, giving false information to a police officer and a probation violation out of Tillamook County. He was also cited for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and lodged at NORCOR.

Disorderly conduct, mischief, criminal trespass and vandalism:

May 5 — S.W. WaNaPa Street, 100 block, Cascade Locks — Criminal mischief to a fence reported.

May 8 — Highway 35, 6900 block — Orchardist reported para-gliders taking off on Bald Butte and landing into his pear trees, causing damage.

Driving under the influence of intoxicants:

May 5 — Cascade Avenue, 3400 block — Female arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants. She was then charged with assaulting a public safety officer and resisting arrest.

Identity theft or bank/credit card fraud:

May 6 — S.W. Wasco Street, 0-100 block, Cascade Locks — Report of identity theft in which an unknown person accessed a Social Security disability insurance account and spent $2,000 at a bingo parlor in California.

May 6 — State Street, 300 block — A victim of identity theft came to the sheriff’s office to report funds being withdrawn on their account from numerous points of sale in Georgia.

May 7 — State Street, 300 block — Male reported theft in the first degree, aggravated identity theft and fraudulent use of a credit card over a two-year span.

Outstanding warrants, parole, probation or terms violations:

May 5 — State Street, 300 block — Male arrested on a probation violation detainer and lodged at NORCOR.

May 5 — Indian Creek Road, 1200 block — Juvenile male arrested on a probation violation detainer.

May 5 — State Street, 300 block — Male arrested on a probation violation detainer and lodged at NORCOR.

May 6 — State Street, 300 block — Male came into the sheriff’s office and turned himself in after learning of a warrant for his arrest. He was lodged at NORCOR.

May 6 — Chevron Drive, 3400 block — Juvenile male arrested for a probation violation and lodged at NORCOR.

May 6 — Neal Creek Road, 3900 block — Female arrested for violating the conditions of probation and improper use of 911. She was lodged at NORCOR.

May 7 — Bridge of the Gods, Cascade Locks — Female arrested for an existing warrant.

Theft, burglary or robbery:

May 5 — Clear Creek Road, 7300 block — Burglary and missing person reported.

May 7 — Odell Highway, 2900 block — Vehicle theft reported.

May 8 — S.E. Lucy Lane, 700 block, Cascade Locks — Juvenile reported someone selling him a stolen iPhone 5.

Other:

May 4 — Gilhouley Road near Highway 35 — Juvenile male cited for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption and careless driving following a traffic complaint.

May 7 — Forest Service Road 17 (Pinemont Drive) — A search and rescue was conducted for two overdue subjects.
