Payne claims HRMGA championship

Hood River Men’s Golf Association held its annual Frank Vincenzo Memorial Club Championship earlier this month at the Hood River Golf and Country Club. Bill Payne claimed top honor as Club Champ, followed by runner-up Kevin Hay. Top three net finishers were Gary Sollman in first, Bill Gillette in second and a tie for third between Harold McBain, Mike Ravens, Elmer Foster and Tom Godwin.

Middle school coaches needed

Hood River and Wy’east middle school basketball programs are in need of boys and girls coaches and assistants for the upcoming fall/winter season. As of this week, coaches are needed for all Wy’east boys and girls teams and for HRMS 7th and 8th grade boys teams. Anyone interested in coaching is asked to contact Phil Hukari as soon as possible at philhuk@embarqmail.com.

Homecoming game is Friday

It’s homecoming week at River Valley High School, and the week of festivities will come to a head Friday night when the Eagles take on North Eugene in a 7 p.m. showdown at Henderson Community Stadium. Earlier in the week, on Tuesday, HRV soccer, water polo and volleyball all hosted home contests and volleyball will host another home contest Thursday, 6:30 p.m. against Hermiston.
