Team of the Week:
(series + handicap):
Carl Casey, 796
Josh Worth, 794
Octavio Campos, 786
Bill Morrissey, 785
Lynn Spellman, 767
Carl Casey found the range last week in the Monday night Industrial league at Hood River’s Orchard Lanes, where he stroked three scratch 200 games on his way to a fine 646 series. Here we are just into October and it appears Carl is already into mid-season form! The finesse specialist ended the session 145 pins over his average to earn No. 1 bowler in town honors for the week.
Close behind was Orchard Lanes staffer Josh Worth, who went to the next level by notching a nifty scratch 710 series in the high-powered Wednesday night Fraternal league. Josh’s muscular power game was 140 pins over his average for the outing, good enough to secure the second spot on the team of the week. Josh also gets a gold star for the top scratch score posted in league action at the lanes last week.
Taking the third spot on our big five is newcomer Octavio Campos, who finished his night’s work in the Industrial 138 pins over his average after racking up beautiful scratch 214 and 211 games. Keep that up Octavio and you will soon become a household name in bowling around here.
While we’re on the subject of progress, we’ve been keeping an eye on Bill Morrissey since he got his new, hi-tech ball. He’s now rolling a beautiful hook that has upped his strike potential off the charts! Bill logged a solid set in the Tuesday Nite Mixed, capped by a scratch 201 game which put him 137 pins over his average to capture the clean-up spot on this team of the week. And, clinching the pressure packed anchor spot on this week’s squad of stars is none other than the spellbinding Lynn Spellman, who shook up the sticks in the Fraternal with a nice scratch 644 series which was 116 pins over his average.
Great bowling everybody!
