Tuesday is final day to register to vote

The final day to register as a new voter in Hood River County is Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Ballots will be mailed on Oct. 17 for the Nov. 4 General Election. Most voters can expect to receive them on either Oct. 18 or Oct. 20. If your ballot does not arrive within a week of Oct. 17, call the county Elections Office at 541-386-1442

To be accepted for the Nov. 4 election, registrations can be delivered to the Hood River County Elections Office, Sixth and State streets, or postmarked by Oct. 14.

Changes of name or address by voters already registered can be accepted until election day, Nov. 4.

Voters who plan to drop their ballots off between Oct. 20-22 should look for paving and other work on State Street; the building will be accessible but parking will be limited due to construction.

Ballots can also be dropped off in the county ballot box at Cascade Locks City Hall.
