Get ready for the Gorge Gear Swap

The annual Gorge Gear Swap, hosted by the Hood River Valley High School ski team, will be Saturday, Nov. 8, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the HRVHS gymnasium. Entrance fees are $5 per person or $10 per family, starting at 9 a.m., with a $25 per person early-entrance fee at 7:30 a.m. for those who want first crack at the best gear and the best deals.

New and gently used sports gear for consignment will be accepted at the HRVHS south gym entrance on Nov. 7, from 6-8:30 p.m. A percent of gear that sells will be donated to the HRV ski team, while the rest will go to the owner; gear that does not sell goes back to its owners.

HRV football to 2-5

Hood River Valley High School varsity football looks to have its playoff-aspirations broken this week on the heels of a tough 55-27 loss Friday at Pendleton. The Eagles, now 2-5 overall and 0-1 in the Columbia River Conference, host the 6-1, 5A No. 7 Hermiston Bulldogs at 7 p.m. this Friday in a last-chance game that, if they can come up with a huge upset, could yield a trip to the state tournament. If not, HRV will play its final game of the season the following week in a 7 p.m. home game (and senior night) against a winless (0-7) River Hawks squad from The Dalles.
