Curves comes through

The clients at Curves gave a boost to FISH food bank last month. Helping volunteer coordinator Billie Stevens, left, is Julie Cantrell, owner of Curves of Hood River, where people combined exercise with giving, more than doubling their collection goal in the 14th annual March food drive. Cantrell said Curves folks donated 341 items – by chance exactly the same number as in 2014– and $1,340 in cash. The goal was $600, which was last year’s donation amount. “The people of this county are great,” Stevens told Cantrell. “Groups like yours that come up with gifts throughout the year are what keep us going.”
