Hood River City Council talks train safety on Monday

Train safety, affordable housing, and parking are ongoing issues Hood River City Council will deal with Monday in its regular meeting, 6 p.m. at City Hall.

Planning director Cindy Walbridge will give an update on the buildable lands inventory and housing analysis study, two connected projects now in their third month. Code changes and other administrative measures are expected to emerge from the studies.

City manager Steve Wheeler will give an oil train safety update, and discuss an upcoming emergency training exercise for local agencies. Wheeler will also discuss plans to go to a revised year-round parking system at the city’s Fourth-and Cascade lot.
