Rob Guidera at White Buffalo

Rob Guidera and friends will play at the White Buffalo on Thursday, Dec. 10, from 6-8 p.m. Rob, an exceptional guitarist and endearing vocalist, brings rock, reggae, jazz and a sea shanties to the Buffalo stage. Tertulia Winery of Walla Walla will host the weekly complimentary tasting. White Buffalo Wine Bar & Bistro, 4040 Westcliff Drive, Hood River.

Chic Preston Trio at The Pines

This week at The Pines:

Jazz at Butler Building Dec. 11

Henry Schifter and Dan Crothers will be joined by Mike Stillman for an evening of favorite international jazz interpretations for the Butler Bank Social Club, which meets from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11. Also catch them on Dec. 18. Butler Bank Building, 301 State St., Hood River.

Groove Project celebrates new Christmas CD on Dec. 13

Get into the holiday spirit this year with a new CD from Tim Mayer and The Groove Project as they celebrate the release of “The Groove Project Grooves Christmas,” featuring holiday classics, original holiday tunes inspired by the scenic Hood River area, and plenty of piano-based jazz interpretations to help make the season bright. Family-friendly concert at the Columbia Center for the Arts on Sunday, Dec 13, at 7 p.m. Tickets $15 adults, $10 seniors/children.

Make memories at The History Museum of Hood River County

The History Museum is hosting a Holiday Open House full of great activities for everyone in addition to all of the wonderful exhibits. There will be holiday crafts and story time for children, Harmony of the Gorge Chorus will perform at 2 p.m., and there will be a Posadas celebration complete with making your own piñata.

Admission fees will be waived for the Holiday Open House on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Secret Salsa meets Dec. 11

Guest instructor Sarah Riddle, owner of Viscount Dance Studio, will be teaching at the Mt. View Grange Hall in White Salmon (1085 N. Main) on Friday, Dec. 11. Lessons start at 7:30 p.m. and a social dance follows. Sarah has some great Cuban Salsa variations to show off which can be transitioned into Casino Rueda. No partner or experience needed. $10 admission.

Country Dance Dec. 12

The Second Saturday Country Dance happens Dec. 12, from 7-9 p.m. The dance caller will be Sue Baker from Hood River. The band will be the Mill Creek String Band from the Mid Columbia Gorge area. Dance lessons will begin at 7 p.m. All ages welcome. No partner required. Family friendly. The dance will be at the Rockford Grange, on Barrett Road, Hood River. $6 for members, $7 for non-members, $1 for youth 16 and under.
