Food drive totals updated

Hood River Valley High School food drive in November and December raised $12,200, announced Chuck Bugge of Hood River FISH Food Bank. Donations came from community members, including those made outside local grocery stores. The proceeds assist FISH in its buying power through Oregon Food Network, so more food can be purchased for clients in Hood River, Odell, Parkdale and Cascade Locks. The HRVHS Leadership Class delivered food and cash Thursday to the new FISH headquarters on Tucker Road.

Financial donations to the high school food drive can be made through Jan. 6 at HRVHS; school resumes on Jan. 4.
